I Came, I Saw, I Yawned...
On the surface what I'll show you here will look too simple to be important. If you just glance at it, you will be unimpressed. You are likely to look at it and say "Oh, I know what that is, and I don't need it." Many an experienced entrepreneur has looked at what I'm hoping to show you and said just that. They didn't take the time to look a little deeper and really "get it". The truth is, I saw it years ago and thought the same thing. Then I forgot all about it; I went off in a different direction and failed - - twice. (What Is It?) Years went by and I learned a lot more, but still I was failing. Despite that difficult education, the next time I saw it I was even quicker to dismiss it. With education comes hubris; the notion that you already know everything. Lucky for me, a short time later I really did learn something; something that I had been gnawing around the edges of for quite some time. It was one of those moments that you hear about; a sudden clarity of thinking that sounds so trite when you try to describe it. Oh, I get it...well, sort of...That sudden clarity of thinking surrounding the subject of what I want to show you here was such a short time after I had seen "it" for the second time that I was lucky enough to be able to find it when I went looking for it again. This time I was able look at it in a different way, and able to look a little deeper. Sadly though, as I looked deeper I saw only part of its importance. Once again the hubris welled up within me and I said (out loud, I think) "Oh, now I really get what that is, and I can do better on my own." I went off and busied myself with preparations to make good use of my new-found understanding. I wasted some more time, and I wasted some more money.Couldn't Shake It...A short time later I came upon it yet again. "That's odd, I said to myself. This seems to keep coming up. What is it about this thing?" Having looked at it such a short time ago with at least some interest, I had no trouble finding it again this time. The more I looked at it the more sense it made. Unfortunately I had just wasted some more money on some software to help me do something similar but in a different way. Not wanting to believe that the most recent money I had spent was really another waste, I left it behind again; or tried to. It kept poking at my brain though, and wouldn't let up. "Okay, I said to myself, I guess I'm going to have to really look this thing over."After a few days of researching it, and pondering it, and researching it some more, I was faced with the realization that this was indeed the right path for me to take. The money I had just wasted was in fact, down the tubes. I would just have to swallow that loss and move forward on the right path. I did that, and I've never looked back. Learn From My Mistakes...What I am hoping you'll gain from this page is the realization that when I finally unveil "it", you will be tempted to yawn. When that happens, I hope you will give me the time it takes to peel away the layers of the onion that are hiding the real importance of it from you. All great things in life are simple. In this particular case, it is the remarkable simplicity that "it" brings to this notion of building and marketing a website that makes it great.
