What's In A Name?

On our home page I told you about the beginning of our name...the REAL part. Here on this page I would like to explain a bit about what this site is and why it's here by explaining the rest of our domain name...REAL home-based business opportunity.com

You should try to forget about that word hanging onto the end of our website name...no, I'm not talking about the .com part. I'm talking about that word "OPPORTUNITY". The fact is I put it there just because people expect it (and because somebody already beat me to the same domain name without that word on the end). Our present day society has pulled a fast one on us with that word "opportunity". We have all been led to believe that it is some mystical quantity that ordinary mortals might get "lucky" with, and that the truly superior people among us can somehow rise above and create it for themselves.

Poppycock! Opportunity is like air. The mere fact that you live somewhere where it is possible for you to log onto the Internet and read these words, tells me that there is opportunity out there that you can get your hands on. The real truth about opportunity is that you can't buy it. The stuff that comes with a bright fancy wrapper with the words "business opportunity" on it is universally bogus. When somebody offers to sell you an opportunity, what they are really offering you is an opportunity to contribute to their success...not yours.

You don't want a piece of somebody else's "opportunity". The fact is that there are little stacks of that kind of opportunity all around you; it's best to avoid stepping in it. You just need to understand what real opportunity is, and grab a hunk of it and use it wisely. No luck or superpowers required. If you stick with me, by the time you're ready to begin and I say "pick an opportunity and let's get started", that will seem as simple and natural to you as if I said "grab that shoe over there and let's get started".

Well, I've talked about the first part of our name and the last part. Let's have a quick look at the creamy stuff in the middle. This site is about home-based business. It is not about home-based jobs, though many people get the two confused. A home-based job gets you right back in that "opportunity" nonsense I just talked about. "Oh please mister, can I have some of your plentiful home-based job opportunity?" Wake-up! A job won't ever get you beyond having food to eat and a place to lay down for awhile until you have to get up and do it again. I'm talking here about a business - think of it as a money machine. Sure, it requires some maintenance, and how much money it makes will depend upon how well you build it. If it doesn't measure up, you can work on it some more to increase it's output, or simply build a second one right next to it. The goal is to wind up with something so real you can reach out and bang on it to make sure it's still there, and at least to some degree, sit back and enjoy the fruits of your past labors.

Oh, and of course we're talking about a business that you run from home. Like many home based businesses (both the fake ones and the real ones), we're talking about a home-based business that revolves around the clever use of a computer. I know, it's no big surprise. The simple fact of the matter is that computers revolutionized the home business scene even before the addition of the Internet.

The home computer and the Internet together are so powerful that to attempt a home-based business without both would simply be stupid in this day and age; like trying to build a house without power tools. Why bother? While the business I will help you build for yourself will revolve around computers and the Internet, IT IS NOT A HIGH TECH BUSINESS! Lucky for you, somebody else already did all of that brainy stuff. They turned your computer and the Internet into a business power tool. I'll show you where the on/off switch is and show you where to feed in your own interests and passion and hard work. The tool does the "brainy technical stuff"; you use your head to choose what to feed into it (then, of course, you have to turn the crank), and out comes your own bright shiny money machine.

And it will be YOUR money machine. I'm not offering you a piece of my money machine. I'm rather fond of all of my own money machines. Try touching one of mine and you're likely to lose a finger; or an arm. Nope, I'm not here hawking "business opportunity", I'm here teaching people how to build their own money machines. Fact is, you're peering deep into one of mine right now. This very website is an excellent example of a money machine. This one teaches people like you how to get started. I have others that have nothing to do with that. All of them are built using the techniques you'll learn right here if you just stick with me long enough to learn a thing or two. If I was here hawking "business opportunity", right now you would have every reason to wrinkle up your forehead and think to yourself "Awh! This guy just wants me to make another website like this one to tell other people how to build a website like this that tells other people how to build a website like this! Darn, just wasted all that time reading this crud!..."

Yeah, been there done that. Gives me indigestion just thinking about it. Nope, yours probably won't be about how to build money machines. I happen to find the process fascinating, that's why I chose it. You're probably more interested in something else. Depending on your own unique twisted view of the world, maybe yours will be about lingerie or car parts or gift baskets. I haven't met you so I wouldn't presume to say what your money machine will be about. That's up to you. My job is to show you how to turn your passion/expertise/proclivity/interest into your own money machine.
