Ok, I guess we will have to treat this as a euphemism that is technically an oxymoron, like "jumbo shrimp". The fact is that, just like "jumbo shrimp", the phrase "make extra money" does have a useful and universally accepted meaning. To most people it means "money over and above that which they are currently making doing their career". It is not extra in the sense of not being desperately needed, just extra in the sense of being more than they can currently get their hands on. Since this whole web page is devoted to this notion of make extra money, it would be great if I could tell you that this whole website is about just that. And it is, in the beginning. Anyone who starts a small business in their spare time should consider it to be, in the beginning, a source of extra money. To imagine that you will be making armored car loads of money before your next rent payment is due simply isn't practical. That is "Lotto Millionaire" thinking, not practical small business person thinking. The thing is, though, I can't really say that this is a website about make extra money. Most of the people who use the information here to start and build their own work-from-home-small-business do start out just making extra money -- for awhile. The truth is, that for most people it actually takes several months to build their business up to a point where it is making anything at all. Typically once one of these businesses gets to the "hey, this thing is paying for my lunch everyday!" stage, it will fairly quickly (a few more months) move up from there to the "hey, this thing is making my car payment every month!" stage, and on up from there (a few more months) to the "one of these days I'm going to tell my boss where to put it!" stage. At that point it really stops being a make extra money thing and becomes a primary source of income. So, if all you want right now is to make extra money, you should start to brace yourself for the day when you will have to give that up and just accept the fact that your "real job" is now "extra money". At that point most people start building a second one of these businesses, and once it gets off the ground they wave good-bye to their old life of stale coffee and endless commutes. If you're really into that whole "Lotto Millionaire" mentality, that's fine. Go out and buy your lottery tickets; then come back here and get started building something a little more practical to tide you over until your "number comes up". If you are diligent and persistent in building your home based small business with our suggested methods, you may one day find yourself dealing with the irony of buying your lottery tickets from the vending machine at the yacht club.
