There are some over to the left, and some more at the bottom of the page. Google allows up to 3 "sets" of their Ads on any given page. Each set of ads has hidden in it a special number that Google keeps track of. That number tells Google who to pay when a reader clicks on one of their ads.

Since there can be up to 3 sets of ads, and each set has its own tracking number, it is very easy for you and I to share the income that your page makes. But hey, 3 is not an even number. When we divvy it up between the two of us, one of us is going to get the short end of the stick. This is where I take one for the team. I set it up such that two of the Ad sets have your Google tracking number, and only one has mine. Even better, research shows that the upper-left corner of the page is the best place for an Ad set; it brings in the most clicks and makes the most money. One of your two Ad sets will always get that place of honor.

So that's the long and the short of it. In exchange for organizing the whole thing, and providing you with the tools you need to very easily complete your few pages, and for hosting the whole thing on the Internet...I skim just 1/3rd of the total income (actually, more like 1/4th, since you get the good spot).
